2025 Wrapped Up

The 2025 Refresh: Books & Beverages

Top Tier Book: The Score by Elle Kennedy

  • Why did it win?
    • Rating: ✨✨✨✨✨
    • This book was amazing and the romance between Dean and Allie was superb. It felt like a true romance with a bit of drama, hockey, and overall love.
    • Drink match: The drink to sip while reading this one would be Pibb Xtra. This has a super punch of cherry which is a direct correlation of the direct romance punch this book brings.

The Golden Goblet: Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry

  • Why did it win?
    • Rating: ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ
    • This was a classic winter soda that really makes the season feel like its winter (even if there is no snow).
    • Book Match: This drink is perfect to enjoy while reading Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand. It matches the ups and downs of the drama that occurs because of a kiss from Santa.

The Biggest Disappointment: I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan

  • Why was it such a letdown?
    • Rating:
    • I wish that I could have given this no stars, but I did read it, so I couldn't. The overall secret was such a letdown, and the reveal was too plain.
    • Drink match: I would pair this with A&W Ice cream Sundae Soda. This was what I was excited for, but it honestly let me down more than I anticipated.

The Roughest Sip: A&W Ice Cream Soda

    • Rating: ๐Ÿพ
    • I wish this tasted more like an ice cream sundae than melted ice cream in a can. It was not as nostalgic as I had expected, given the intended flavor profile.
    • Book match: I would say it would have fit with the malt shop books from Nadine C. Keels, but it was such a disappointment that it did seem to fit more with I Know What You Did Last Summer (sorry, I really was hoping to enjoy the book).
