It came in a glass bottle, which I found to be amazing. Since plastic bottles harm the environment, are less healthy to drink out of, and are less reusable than glass. It had an easy-to-remove screw cap, which made it super easy to open slowly. This causes there to be no spills when opening since it is a sparkly beverage.
The label was clear but also super summery. It gave the perfect highlight of what the flavor profile was. It also showed that it was organic, kosher, fair trade certified, and that there are live & active cultures.
Visually, it was appealing to me as I never really drank kombucha, as I was afraid of it not tasting well. It did draw me in as maybe it would be a flavor that I would enjoy, since I do love blueberries and floral notes.
When I first opened the bottle, I could smell the floral notes instantly. This caused a bit of uncertainty for me, but after further inspection, I can smell blueberry. Overall, it was a very refreshing smell that made the product seem very enticing. I do wish there was more of a balanced scent between the lavender and blueberry to really draw in a consumer. It also had a bit of a fermented smell to it; however, it was not extremely overpowering. That I found to be really amazing, as other kombucha has that smell and are often off-putting to me.
When tasting this, I noticed that the lavender was very prominent in the flavor profile. It was the first thing I noticed, but it was not overpowering or too much. The blueberry taste was less prominent, and it was subtle. This did go had in hand well with the lavender, creating a balanced profile. I did like the flavor combination, as that was unique for me in terms of a drink or any beverage/food items. The way to describe this is very floral with a subtle hint of fruitiness.
The balance of the two flavors was perfect for a drink that was intended to be healthy and light. I did feel, however, that there did need to be a touch more blueberry to it as there were points where there was more lavender than blueberry. The combination was surprisingly interesting and tasty. I did enjoy that, as I was always curious how lavender would taste in a beverage.
It did have a bit of tartness to it when I first tried it, which was actually a bit disappointing. After trying it a few more times it did seem to get a bit sweeter but not extremely sweet. There seemed to be a good balance between sweetness and tartness. On the spectrum of tart to sweet, I would say it falls somewhere in the middle but a bit closer to sweet as you continue to drink it.
The carbonation level for this was extremely high for a kombucha in my opinion. I felt like there was too much to a point where it felt like it had more bubbles than taste. I had gotten more bubbles each sip making it difficult to actually taste the different notes in the drink. The carbonation was aggressive and I do wish there was a bit less, if it had the level of carbonation a can of Coke does, it would be perfect. I did let it sit in my fridge for a couple of days which did seem to help with carbonation level but it still was too much.
The aftertaste of this was fruity which was surprising as the first taste is very floral. So that is why I was able to say that the flavors are balanced. It did have a bit of a sour/tangy aftertaste as well but not too much. It was also still balanced with being sour and sweet with the aftertaste. I did really like the aftertaste as it did not taste too much like vinegar.

This drink seems to be a decent low sugar option beverage but note it still does have some sugar content. In terms of mentioning the specific cultures or strains, that does not appear in any of the information. It does provide a warning that it can contain extremely small amounts of alcohol in it so consumers are aware of it.
The serving size of the bottle is 16 fl oz or 473 mL. The price of this kombucha does seem to be fair especially since it is a store's specific brand and not a name brand. It seems to be around the price range of many name brands like Synergy or Health-aid kombucha. Most brands are around the $2.99 price for 16 fl oz as this one is as well. So it can be seen to be worth it, if it is a brand or flavors that you like.
The rating I would give is πππππ (5/5 stars). I would buy it again when I am looking for that perfect floral/fruity beverage. The consumer who would enjoy it is someone looking for a unique flavor profile that they may never have tasted before.
This pairs well with the Malt Shop series as the characters in the books are bubbly, fun, and perfectly balanced. It would also pair well with any summer-themed book.
